After Hurricane Helene hit our county hard my family started and ran a relief center for many months.During that time I found the need to simplify some things based on timing so I gave away all my African Soft Furred Rats, Quail, and many of my chickens.  I hope to get back into raising them in the Spring of 2026.

We raise African Soft Furred Rats and feed them whole (pre-killed/frozen/thawed) as part of our cats' raw diet.  Whole prey items are a tasty treat!  They also provide an enrichment experience, exercise for cats' jaws, and help clean their teeth.  We often have extras that are for sale either pre-killed and frozen to be used as food or live to be used as breeders.  We do not recommend feeding any live rodents to cats or reptiles.  Prices are as follows:

Fuzzy 5-8 grams - $0.75 each

Hopper 9-12 grams - $1.00 each

Pup 13-19 grams - $1.50 each

Small 20-29 grams - $2.00 each

Medium 30-39 grams - $2.50 each

Large 40-49 grams - $3.00 each

Extra Large 50-59 grams - $3.50 each

Adult 60+ grams - $4.00 each

We are located in Burnsville, NC which is about 35-45 minutes from Asheville, NC. 

African Soft Furred Rats can be picked up here or shipped (frozen only, no live shipments). 

Shipping requires a minumum purchase and Overnight/Express Shipping Charges will be applied.
